Getting Started with vyb

vyb is a Direct-to-Fan platform made to connect artists and fans. With vyb you can give your fans unique experiences, a look behind the curtain, exclusive access to merch and content.
Why isn’t social media working?
For decades we’ve been told to build up a social following and success will come. Here is the truth, social media isn’t your friend. Numerous studies have shown that the higher your social following, the smaller percent of your followers you will reach with an organic post. Why?
Social media’s business is advertising.
They charge you to boost posts to reach the audience you built. You have to dump more and more money just to reach that audience.
At vyb we never charge you to reach your own audience. In fact, we will do a lot of the reach for you, automatically.
Fans and Super Fans are all your income
Multiple industry studied have looked at the income from an artist’s fanbase. Here is what we know, 90% of your audience are casual Listeners on streaming services, they contribute less than 3% of an artist’s income. Fans make up 9% of your audience and they will be 46% of your income. Fans will buy an album, go to a concert. They support you. Super Fans are the best. They are only 1% of your Audience, but they make up over 50% of your income. Super Fans always go to the show, they buy the merch, they are your true supporters.
The goal of vyb is to help you grow your Fans and Super Fans by forming direct connections.

First 5 things to do in vyb
Now that you’ve joined vyb, here are the first five things to do:
1. Connect your Socials
Your goal is to bring people from your socials, where you don’t control the algorithm, into your vyb community. It’s ok that you don’t reach everyone, social algorithms will favor your Fans and Super Fans.
To connect your socials, go to My Dashboard/Account Overview and click the “Connect” button by Connect your Socials. Alternatively you can go to Social Media Integrations in the left hand menu.

2. Record a welcome GoLive
Welcome your fans to your account by recording a welcome GoLive. Don’t worry about making it perfect, just introduce yourself and tell a little about yourself. GoLives will be a key element in the future for you to give exclusive behind the scenes content for your subscribers.
To record a GoLive, click “+ Launch” in the top menu, name your GoLive, and choose the audience as “Everyone”.

3. Make your merch store
In vyb you can create and sell merch with no upfront fees or costs. You simply design your merch, publish to your store, and start selling! Your fans from across the globe can order merch and have it printed on demand from one of our 12 partner sites around the globe and delivered in just a couple of weeks.

4. Upload your contact list
In vyb we are building powerful automations for email and sms marketing. Whenever someone interacts with you on the platform, we capture their email so that you can start directly connecting with them. If you have an existing contact list, you can upload them for your email campaigns. Let them know of new merch, new Events, your next release or tour, or anything else!
To upload your contacts, go to MyDashboard, Contacts Management, select import icon.

5. Schedule your first event
Events are one of your major sources of income. Events can be in-person, virtual, or hybrid. If you are interested in self-promoting and event, where you would make the most money, then you can host an in-person or hybrid event with multiple ticket tiers. Virtual events are a great thing for your real super fans. You can reach a world-wide audience, offer an exclusive performance, and continue to sell the video after the event. During the event your fans can chat and tip you.
If it feels a little daunting to do your first virtual event, you can always schedule a friends and family event. Add the emails of your friends and family to the guest list, then limit the participant count to the number of people you have invited. They will be the only ones who can attend.
After you are comfortable with the tech, start setting up a regularly scheduled event recorded from your practice space or some other cool venue you can use.
