Tracking your Artist’s earnings

Tracking your Artist’s earnings

If you are a label or manager, you can check in on all of your artists and see how they are doing on the platform.

Wallet Overview

Navigate to “Wallet”. At the top are overall statistics for all your artists.

“Pending” funds are those that are held pending an event

“Locked” funds are those that are locked until an artist completes their Stripe Profile

Using the pulldown menu, you can see stats for your artists by week, month, YTD etc.

This pull down also changes the lower artist breakdown.

Below the overview status you have each artist in your roster with their earnings broken into each individual catagory.

Label and Manger account setup

Label and Manger account setup

If you are a label or a manger, we have given you special features and access to extra data on your artists.

Here are the steps to setup your account:

Step 1: Signup to vyb

After selecting Signup for new account, choose your account type, either label or manager

Step 2. Fill in basic account information

Just like an artist profile, fill in the basic account information. Don’t worry, you can always go back and edit this later if you want to make changes.

Step 3. Invite Artists

Click “+ Add Artist” and then add the artist name and their email.

If your artist is already on vyb, we’ll email them to accept your invitation.

If the artist is not on vyb, we’ll take care of emailing them and inviting them to the platform to complete their profile.

Step 4. Artists accept their invitation.

Your artists will receive an email like this one, inviting them to the platform. If they are an existing vyb artist, then they can simply accept or decline the offer.

If they are not on vyb yet, clicking “Accept” will take them through an onboarding process. They don’t need to complete their profile, they can simply make a start and save it as draft.

Step 5. Monitor Artist signup process in your dashboard

In your dashboard under “My Artists” you can see all the artist you have invited to vyb.

  • Invite Status: shows if they have accepted or declined your invite. If the status shows “Invited” that means they have yet to take action
  • Account Status: shows you the status of their profile, either “Draft” or “Completed”. If is says “Completed” this means they have published their account.

Step 6. Add Other artists from your dashboard

From that same dashboard you can add additional artists to the platform. Under the Actions you can delete a connection to an artist if they are no longer affiliated with you.

Once an artist has accepted your invitation, their profile will automatically get a link to your manager/label page

This is how you set your profile and invite artists. As always, email us at help@vyb.co with any questions or suggestions.

Give Your Fans a Peek Behind the Scenes with GoLives

Give Your Fans a Peek Behind the Scenes with GoLives

GoLives are one of the most important things to use on vyb. GoLives are meant to be quick recordings that engage and excite your fans, content they only get in your vyb account. Regular GoLives keep your fans coming back to your account and let you speak to them directly.

You can be really strategic with your GoLives by choosing the audience. Make some content available for all fans, and make some exclusive to your All-Access. Here are a couple of examples:

  • You are recording new music, and you want to hype your audience for the upcoming release. Record a short GoLive that only plays the hook of a new song, then announce at the end that if people want to hear more, they need to join your community. Now go record a longer playthrough of the song and make that exclusive to your All-Access members.
  • You are on the road with a tour, do a quick GoLive backstage, intro some of the other people hanging out there.
  • Do a rig rundown of the gear you are using for a show or on a recording.
  • Take one of your popular songs and record an intro describing the songwriting or recording process.
  • Every Saturday at noon do a GoLive where you play a couple of songs in your rehearsal studio. Let fans in the chat pick the next song you play.

Tipping

Your fans can give you tips during the GoLive, so it can be a fun way to do regular engagements with them without all the setup of a ticketed event.

For further technical information and recommendations, especially if you are using Streaming Hardware or Software, see Video Streaming Technical Details

How to Do a GoLive in 6 Steps.

Here is how to record GoLives and start engaging your fans:

Step 1. Launch GoLive

From the top Launch menu, select GoLive

Step 2. Set the Title and Choose Audience

By default, vyb will use the date to set a title for your GoLive. You should edit this to something more descriptive for your fans.

Now set the Audience. This is who can watch this while you are live as well as well as view the video afterwards.

Not quite sure if you have the catchiest title, don’t stress!! The title and Audience can be edited anytime you want after you’ve recorded your GoLive, even years later

Step 3. Choose Stream Source

The easiest thing to do for stream source is to use your built-in webcam from a laptop or your phone. Don’t turn this into a big hassle, just grab your phone and do a quick video.

If you want to use a more sophisticated multi-camera setup, you can select Streaming Software to use OBS or other popular video software programs.

Further technical information can be found in Video Streaming Technical Information.

Step 4. Set Privacy Settings

Under privacy settings, you can choose if the recording is available afterwards. Usually we recommend that you do this, that way you build up your exclusiive content library.

Make your GoLive more interactive by letting fans chat with you during the GoLive.

Step 5. You are Ready to Record!

Now simply press “Start GoLive” and you are recording!

The chat will be on the sidebar, make sure to check that if you’ve let your fans know you are going live at a certain time.

After you are done, the GoLive video will show up in your profile in a few minutes.

Step 6. Generate a Preview

Your video may need a moment or two to show up. Refresh your screen and once it is there, you can generate your preview. If you want to use a frame in your video, then scrub the video to the right position and make note of the timestamp.

In the bottom right, click the Generate Preview select a thumbnail image for a preview

Select an image to act as a thumbnail image for your GoLive

Alternatively, you can change your video timestamp to the right position in your video.

Click the Generate Preview button and then hit “Save:

Fans can now see your GoLive!

Any of your fan community will be notified that you have done a new GoLive.

If you’ve made this GoLive open to all, then any fan can find the video in your profile and watch it.

Make Edits to Your GoLive

To change the title or audience of your GoLive, navigate to My GoLives in your dashboard and select “Edit” from the action menu.

To change the preview image, select “View detail” and then re-generate the preview.

You can select if this album will be sold to everyone or only your fan community.

Step 4. Set pricing for digital download

For each track, you can give a track name and then select if the track is to be included in the pre-order or not.

You can add collaborators to your project, if you give them a percentage of the music track, then we will automatically track their earnings and pay them when they create a vyb account.

No more tracking splits with different spreadsheets, put the info once into vyb adn you are done.

Keep going until you’ve added all your tracks.

For each format on each track, you will get a color-coded button that tells you the format type and whether it is good. Green with a check indicates this is a good track. Orange with an ‘!’ indicates that this might be the wrong format. Hovering over the track button will tell you the track information. Red with a ‘!’ indicates that it is a bad track.

You can simply click on the track button to replace the file.

Under each button is a little play icon. Clicking that will let you hear the uploaded track.

Step 9. Upload Extras

You can upload extra files that will be available to your fans with your release.

These can be images, videos, text lyric files, etc.

These files can either be ‘Public’, which makes them browsable by those shopping your music, or ‘Purchase’, which makes them only available to those who purchase your music. Your choice!

Step 10. Publish Your Album

Now you are ready to publish your album.

You will notice that two prices are listed for the release and Pre-order. The second price listed in (blue) is the price your All-Access will pay.

Check all the details and if they are correct, push Publish.

On the pre-order date, fans will be able buy the pre-order and listen to any tracks you included in the pre-order. We will automatically send them an email when the full album is released.

The Pre-order is automatically closed either after the release date or if you set a maximum number of pre-orders, then when you have sold all of those.

And that’s it, you’ve posted your album for sale! Now promote it out to all of you fans and start selling!!
